No
matter how fit you are you will not succeed in the race if you spend all your time running in the wrong direction!
You should be able to engage in the basic skills of navigation, in terms
of relating your position on a map with your physical location. You will need to be able to take bearings and follow them
for the hill run sections any added navigation skills beyond that are a bonus.
Navigation will be kept to a minimum with features which are easy to find as checkpoints. Some of the checkpoints
will also be manned by staff, these are most likely to be transition areas.
